One Week!

Ahhh...3 more nights of work until I start a much needed vacation and one week until we leave for our cruise. I had a very busy weekend.

Saturday morning I went to the Ladies' Tea Party at church. It was nice to see everyone and fun to have tea and finger foods on nice china. I even won one of the door prizes, a tea pot! After the tea I went home to change clothes and see Ehran real quick before he went to work. I then left and went to the NICU Reunion at work. Its an annual reunion we have for all of the NICU babies and their families that have graduated from the unit. It was great to see how the babies had grown and catch up with parents. I was there for about 2 hours and then made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby to get some supplies to finish a bracelet for a girl at work. I next picked up my mom, we went and picked up Ladybird from home and headed to the annual Weiner Dog Races in Buda. We didn't catch any of the actual races but ate at one of the food booths and looked at some of the arts and crafts booths. We then headed over to the Shops Above Memory Lane. Mom wanted to see where my jewelry was being sold and check out the store. They were doing really well and had already sold some of my pieces. It was so exciting!

Today I went to church, ate lunch and then went back to the shop to drop off some more jewelry peices to be sold. I then went to the grocery store to stock up for the week and headed home. Around 6 me and Ehran went to our first TEAMS meeting. Its a new bible study made up of 5-6 couples in our church that meets once a month. Every month we meet at a different couple's home, eat dinner, do a study and have some fellowship time. We didn't know how it was going to go but we really liked it! I love all of the couples in our TEAM and look forward to making stronger relationships with each of them. Me and Ehran need this group. We sometimes feel isolated from other people our age because of our jobs and weird work schedules. But this group is great becuase we can plan a month in advance for the next meeting and everyone is very flexible. We are already looking forward to next month's meeting.

Well, time to wind down and get into bed to prepare for another 3 nights of work. Goodnight! :)

Jilly Jewels

Yay!! Well, its official...I signed a contract on Tuesday with The Shops Above Memory Lane to sell my jewelry in their store. I started my website back last fall and made a few sales mainly to friends and family, but now I'm hoping I can get some good publicity for my products. The Shops are located above Memory Lane Antiques on Main Street in Buda and are set to be open tomorrow during the annual weiner dog races. The grand opening is on May 6th! Today I'm finishing up some pieces and dropping off my stuff this afternoon to the shop. Check out the store and their website: www.shopsabovememorylane.com

13 Days!

I'm working at Dell NICU tonight. The first of 4 nights in a row for this week! I've been complaining about it over the weekend but my first night is half way done and its hasn't been too bad at all. I have a really nice assignment tonight and everyone here is being so nice and helpful. (this has not always been the case in the past)

So now its only 13 days until we leave for Galveston and the Western Carribbean! Just gotta get through this week and the rest of the next; then I'm off for 14 days!! Whoo Hooo!

In the midst of this busy week of work I'm excited about tomorrow! I've been talking to a girl who is opening a new botique in downtown Buda. Tomorrow I am bringing her some of my jewelry to look at and sell in her store. I'm hoping and praying that my stuff will do well and that the store will do well in general. More info to come on this once I know more!! :)

A new week!

*Sigh* I havn't posted in forever it seems. Not much exciting news to blog about lately. But, today is the start of a new week and I feel its been productive so far.

Slept in until about 11:50am...nice. Got up and did my slim in 6 program. I started this last fall before Thanksgiving and lost about 8 lbs but of course gained it all back after Christmas. ha! So today Jenny C. and I started it again and are going to keep each other accountable to it. I would love to lose 8-10lbs by the end of the 6th week which will be right before we leave on our cruise. Perfect!

Then cleaned the fish tank. That is a chore in its self, and gave the dog a bath and then I took a shower. So now we are all buff and clean. hee hee.

Now time to make a grocery list and head to the store. (my least favorite thing to do in the world!) Gotta think of some things high fiber and low cal to eat for this week.

We are Blessed!

There's been a lot of sad things going on around here lately that has forced me to notice how blessed me and Ehran truly are.

I'm sure most have hear from the news the past few days that one of the officers at Ehran's work was arrested this week. He was taking inappropriate pictures of women undressing at the Junior's dressing room in Macy's at Barton Creek Mall. I know! I almost wanted to throw up when I heard the news. Just makes me sick to my stomach that someone everyone trusts could do something like that. This entire incident has not only affected that officer but all the officers he works with and has completely messed up Ehran's work schedule. As of right now he was suppose to have part of Valentine's weekend off but has to work the whole thing and is scheduled to work on my birthday next weekend when he originally had it off!! Uggg! I really hate this. As much as I was trying to be understanding, I was still just a fuming mess the other night when I found out about this whole thing and Ehran's schedule. I just wanted to scream at that guy for being so selfish and not taking into consideration other people. But, I guess it wouldn't have done any good seeing as how he is obviously irrational *sigh*

On another sad note, (and sorry if this is depressing people just have to get it off my chest) we have had multiple people I work with lately being diagnosed with cancer, having suspicious spots on their breasts, masses in their throats and on their ovaries, etc, etc. One nurse I work with said that she couldn't take the talk of cancer in our unit anymore! And I agree! I am just so fed up with Satan attacking our unit. My unit is almost like my second family, even though we don't alway agree on everything, everyone is very close knit. Its hard on everyone when people are going through things like this and its really depressing at work. It seems like every other week there is a new diagnosis.

But, these few things have helped me to realize once again how blessed I am. With health, with stable finances, with a home, a loving husband, working and reliable cars, a job, clean criminal records, and the list goes on. Thank you Lord for showing me through all of this, that bitterness and depression is not what it should come to, but to be thankful and grateful for the life we have.

Training

So this morning at Seton Hays they started a training program for Seton employees and thier families. We are training to run in the Texas Round Up 5K in April. We meet once a week at the hospital to do drills and run. Today was the first day so we just did drills indoors because it was soooo cold out. Ehran met me after work and we went to the class of about 7 people. We started doing drills in one of the ORs that is still just a shell. It was kind of funny to be using one of the ORs as a gym but it worked. The nursing administrator for Hays was our coach and she really made us work. I was such a whimp and had to sit out the last drill because I felt like I was going to faint. Ehran made us all look bad because he was SO good at all the drills and barely broke a sweat. Now we are suppose to do 15 to 20 minute drills on our own during the week and meet every Friday morning as a class. Even though it was super hard I feel really good about this and its nice me and Ehran are able to do it together. :)

Maybe I'll be able to get some photos of us when we start to do some things outside.
